BLISS - 2009 Word of the Year

I’ve been doing a lot of reading this week about “Finding Your BLISS”. Of course there are as many ways to “find your BLISS” as there are definitions for it. Still there seems to be a pattern….an ongoing road map in everyone’s theory.

Generally, finding BLISS is equated to finding your absolute joy. It’s your energy and excitement that makes you want to get up in the morning and pursue life with a passion. It is that passion that attracts good things to you because you are in the right place at the right time and it just FEELS right.

Here you go...this week's ramblings about BLISS.

You are responsible for finding your own BLISS. No one can choose your BLISS for you. You must live your own truth, whether it is through your faith or some other passionate part of your life. In my life, my mother tried to choose my BLISS for me. In and of itself, that does not produce BLISS. You and only you can find your BLISS.

Be clear on what brings you joy. Observe contrast in your life. Each thing that you can name that doesn’t bring you joy, steers you in the direction of what does. As you find those things that give you joy, focus on them so that your BLISS comes into focus too.

Always go with your heart. Your head will guide you, but it is your heart that will allow you to find your BLISS. Your head will focus on worries and the things that hold you back. Your heart will focus on “that which will not be denied”. Use your head to protect your heart, but listen to your heart too.

Let go of your fear. Fear is….

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real.

Fear is an illusion. It is something that will steal your BLISS and make your dreams too vague to bring to reality. Living in fear makes forward motion stop. BLISS is something that grows and is alive and breathes. In other words, it moves forward.

Develop an attitude of thankfulness. Gratitude aligns your thoughts with positive energy and creates a heart that is willing to receive. Until you are grateful for what you have in your life today, you will not attract greater things.

BLISS is all about attracting what your passion is and what you were created to be. It seems so simple, but people live their whole lives not feeling that passionate BLISS. I do not intend to be one of them.

Trouble is, I've forgotten what brings me joy. :(

You've been through such a trauma Echo. That's the cool thing about BLISS. It just waits patiently for us to find it again. It took me two years to start feeling like myself. A blink of the eye really. Begin to look at the little things that give you joy....your daughter's smile perhaps? Your in my thoughts.
